About Stephan Balzer
For more than 20 years now, Stephan Balzer is managing director of the creative consultancy red onion. In 2009, he brought the TEDx conferences to Germany and has, since then, hosted Germany's largest TEDx events in Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt. Being an expert in TED-style storytelling, he has given numerous talks on "The Secret of TED Talks" himself and co-authored Inspiring! Kommunizieren im TED-Stil with Frank Edelkraut in 2016. The book is available at Springer Professional Press.
In 2015, Stephan started a partnership with the Singularity University, a Silicon Valley-based cutting-edge technology organization founded by Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis. He moderated and produced the Singularity University Germany Summit Berlin from 2016 to 2018.
Stephan Balzer is co-founder of the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung, an independent political think tank in Berlin, founding board member media:net berlinbrandenburg, and co-founder of CAA Contemporary Arts Alliance Berlin.
As part of his personal engagement, Stephan co-founded the non-profit organization Global Perspectives Initiative together with Dr. Ingrid Hamm, promoting a constructive discourse on the global challenges of our time.
