Stephan Balzer is a Berlin-based thought leader in cultural and technological business innovation. As a keynote speaker and event moderator, he talks about future-oriented business topics such as digital transformation, new leadership, disruptive innovation, and cultural change, sharing unique insights on exponential thinking and the way we need to shape executive mindsets for the future.
As CEO in creative consulting himself for more than 20 years, Stephan brought the TEDx format and the Singularity University Summit to Germany. To the day, he has hosted around 80 conferences and has given numerous speeches on stage. Recently, he founded Boma Germany.

For more than 20 years now, Stephan Balzer is managing director of the creative consultancy red onion. In 2009, he brought the TEDx conferences to Germany and has, since then, hosted Germany's largest TEDx events in Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt. Being an expert in TED-style storytelling, he has given numerous talks on "The Secret of TED Talks" himself and co-authored Inspiring! Kommunizieren im TED-Stil with Frank Edelkraut in 2016. The book is available at Springer Professional Press.
In 2015, Stephan started a partnership with the Singularity University, a Silicon Valley-based cutting-edge technology organization founded by Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis. He moderated and produced the Singularity University Germany Summit Berlin from 2016 to 2018.
Recently, Stephan co-founded the global education and impact network Boma. Boma offers corporate training in transformation and change processes linked directly to outcomes, to educate future leaders and change-makers in designing a more human-centered future. Besides that, Stephan Balzer is co-founder of the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung, an independent political think tank in Berlin, founding board member media:net berlinbrandenburg, and co-founder of CAA Contemporary Arts Alliance Berlin.
As part of his personal engagement, Stephan co-founded the non-profit organization Global Perspectives Initiative together with Dr. Ingrid Hamm, promoting a constructive discourse on the global challenges of our time.
